@resourcenursenetwork
it began with a memory
"She who saves the day"
I spent most of my summer writing, hoping that might make me feel better.
Some of my best nursing memories were as hospital Resource Nurse. The independence, the adrenaline, but most of all... the trust I had in myself.
I was so sure, so confident. I loved my job. Where had that girl gone?
I thought about the many Resource Nurses, Charge Nurses, and "Rock Stars" I know, who do the work of three people most days, post-pandemic.
They are:
- informal leaders, influencing those above & below them.
- The most precious human resource
- The Key to successful change
- Leaving the profession, rapidly.
"Resource Nurse" to me means having faith, a heart that doesn't give up, a mind that's best under pressure,
and a spirit that
just loves a good come back.
We are called upon to heal our own wounds by helping others.
Resource Nurses are
"the who, the how, & the why"
Let's fix nursing.
